Hilarity and mayhem ensue. You know how it goes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who made the <em>Vacation<\/em> reboot (but don&#8217;t hold it against them)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler, Jesse Plemons<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> R-rated comedies are hit or miss (Jason Bateman comedies even more so), but this one is hitting &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/game_night_2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">85%<\/a> at Rotten Tomatoes, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/movie\/game-night?ref=hp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">66\/100<\/a> at Metacritic. (Not a different bed, a different body.) (Well, a different bed, too, but not in a trashy way.) Based on David Levithan&#8217;s novel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> Michael Sucsy (<em>Grey Gardens<\/em>, <em>The Vow<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> Angourie Rice as the girl, Maria Bello as her mom, and a whole bunch of people (male and female) as her body-hopping soulmate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> Orion didn&#8217;t screen this for critics in a lot of cities (Orion is barely a distributor), so there aren&#8217;t many reviews up yet, but so far they&#8217;re middling: split <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/every_day_2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">half and half<\/a> on Rotten Tomatoes, average score of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/movie\/every-day-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">54\/100<\/a> at Metacritic. (I caught it Thursday night. It&#8217;s fine. Angourie Rice has a young Amy Adams thing going.)<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Uyp2pYUEVZo<\/p>\n<h3><em>Operation Red Sea<\/em> (limited; NR, 2:22)<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/crookedmarquee.com\/stage8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/operation-red-sea-poster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8881\" src=\"https:\/\/crookedmarquee.com\/stage8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/operation-red-sea-poster.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"280\" \/><\/a>Plot:<\/strong> It&#8217;s an action flick, based on a true story, about an elite Chinese Navy force taking on terrorists and a coup and whatnot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> Dante Lam<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> Zhang Yi<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> Only a few reviews are up, but they&#8217;re all roughly positive, especially with regards to the action. But then the bad guys take his wife! Or something.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> Jesper Ganslandt.
