Based on the Bible story.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> Kay Cannon, making her directorial debut after writing <em>Pitch Perfect<\/em> and working on <em>30 Rock<\/em> and <em>New Girl<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> John Cena, Leslie Mann, Ramona Young, Kathryn Newton<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> This has been getting good reactions since its SXSW premiere, with critics saying it&#8217;s surprisingly progressive, funny, and filthy (that part&#8217;s not a surprise). It&#8217;s at 86% on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/blockers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> (average score: 6.8\/10), 73\/100 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/movie\/blockers?ref=hp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metacritic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Blockers - Official Trailer (HD)\" width=\"760\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RfFcaV5O7SU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><em>A Quiet Place<\/em> (PG-13, 1:30)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Plot:<\/strong> There are blind monsters that hunt based on sound, so everybody has to be really quiet. Important lessons are taught about how to behave in movie theaters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> John Krasinski, who&#8217;s directed a couple of things (<em>Brief Interviews with Hideous Men<\/em>, <em>The Hollars<\/em>) but whom you probably know as Jim on <em>The Office<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> Here&#8217;s another one that premiered at SXSW and has been building hushed buzz ever since. It&#8217;s at 98% at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/a_quiet_place_2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> (average score: 8.1\/10), 81\/100 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/movie\/a-quiet-place?ref=hp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metacritic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A Quiet Place (2018) - Official Teaser Trailer - Paramount Pictures\" width=\"760\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/p9wE8dyzEJE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><em>The Miracle Season<\/em> (PG, 1:40)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Plot:<\/strong> Based on the true story of a high school volleyball team that was sad after their coach suddenly died, but then they overcame being sad and played volleyball.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> Sean McNamara (<em>Soul Surfer<\/em>, <em>Bratz<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> Erin Moriarty, Helen Hunt, Tiera Skovbye, William Hurt<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> Sounds like it&#8217;s manipulative and heartfelt; your mileage may vary. It&#8217;s 31% at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/the_miracle_season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> (average score: 4.7\/10), 35\/100 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/movie\/the-miracle-season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metacritic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Miracle Season Trailer #1 (2018) | Movieclips Indie\" width=\"760\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Bt_RYJdjyRM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><em>Chappaquiddick<\/em> (PG-13, 1:46)<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Plot:<\/strong> Based on the the true story of the time Ted Kennedy (Jason Clarke) drove a car off a bridge into a lake, killing passenger Mary Jo Kopechne (Kate Mara) &#8212; which sounds like one of those insane Hillary Clinton conspiracy theories, but it actually happened.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director:<\/strong> John Curran (<em>The Painted Veil<\/em>, <em>We Don&#8217;t Live Here Anymore<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stars:<\/strong> Kate Mara, Jason Clarke, Clancy Brown, Olivia Thirlby, Ed Helms<\/p>\n<p><strong>Buzz:<\/strong> This premiered at Toronto last fall and has garnered respectful reviews. It&#8217;s at 78% on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/chappaquiddick\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> (average score: 7\/10); at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/movie\/chappaquiddick\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metacritic<\/a> it&#8217;s 69\/100 (which Sen. Elsewhere, it&#8217;s 87% at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/you_were_never_really_here\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> (average score: 8.6\/10), 84\/100 at <a
