<\/a>Han Solo\u2019s birth name is revealed to be \u201cBlane Shartbarn,\u201d which he changes for cool smuggler reasons, not because a lot of kids made fun of him or anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Chewbacca wears a beekeeper\u2019s helmet at all times, until Han explains to him that there are no bees in space.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a><\/span>Lando has a crippling fear of clouds.<\/p>\n<\/a>Woody Harrelson\u2019s new character, Beckett, is NOT his character from \u201cCheers,\u201d but he thinks it is, with Beckett constantly asking for Ted Danson\u2019s Sam.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Thandie Newton\u2019s new character, Val, IS actually her character from HBO\u2019s \u201cWestworld,\u201d so you need to have seen the entirety of that show and played the virtual-reality game to understand it.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Just like 2016\u2019s Rogue One<\/i>, the movie doesn\u2019t have an opening crawl, but it does contain a bibliography at the end.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Alden Ehrenreich proves himself to be the one, the only, the iconic Han Solo by killing Harrison Ford in the first five minutes of the film.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Donald Glover plays Lando to perfection, and also plays six other characters, including himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Lucasfilm doesn\u2019t hide the fact that the movie is made up of the work of multiple directors, and has \u201cHOWARD\u201d or \u201cLORD & MILLER\u201d watermarked on every shot.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Han\u2019s character is finally put back the right way, and he now shoots first in every scene, especially dialogue scenes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>In a nice bit of synergy, one scene finds the Millennium Falcon\u2019s crew barging into a Denny\u2019s at 2 am, where they absolutely refuse to order anything from the special Solo<\/i> menu. Chewie ruins the bathroom.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Director Ron Howard provides voiceover narration in the style of his work on \u201cArrested Development,\u201d only he can\u2019t remember any of the names of the characters.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>There are some fun cameos! Lando\u2019s dad is played by Billy Dee Williams wearing a fake beard, and Han\u2019s dad is played by Hayden Christensen wearing a fake mustache.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Newcomer Paul Bettany is magnetic as Dryden Vos, a mysterious character who\u2019s prone to say \u201cit doesn\u2019t get any Bettany than that, baby!\u201d at the end of scenes, which come to think of it must just be the end of takes that the filmmakers decided to leave in.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>The film\u2019s visual effects look spectacular, silencing naysayers who thought that they wouldn\u2019t be finished in time for the Memorial Day release. The breathtaking train heist sequence was always meant to be finished using pieces of cardboard to hearken back to Star Wars<\/i>\u2019 practical effects beginnings.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>After a test screening, Phoebe Waller-Bridge\u2019s performance as the droid L3-37 was deemed \u201ctoo human,\u201d so her entire part has been ADR\u2019d with Kanye\u2019s \u201cpoop diddy scoop\u201d verse.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Being a prequel, obviously no major characters can die at the end of the film. Instead, there\u2019s a heartbreaking montage where they kill off a few more heroes from Avengers: Infinity War<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>Chewbacca dies.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>In a bid to course-correct the saga following the whiny fan response to The Last Jedi<\/i>, Emilia Clarke plays Qi\u2019ra Reysmom. Shockingly, Qi\u2019ra turns out not to be Rey\u2019s mom. Yoda is.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>The movie ends with Han slipping and falling into a carbonite freezing chamber, setting up his first appearance in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n
